The 3 beat weave is spun by doing a weave but leaving one hand to complete another beat when it would normally curve back along the figure of eight to the other side of you for the repetition. The trick to this is to put your hand first above your other arm (just like in a normal Weave) then below the same arm for the extra beat. Then repeat on the other side.

I know. to a beginner that's just gibberish. I'm sorry, just study the piccys and concentrate on one hand only in them, give it some time, patience and practice and it will all make sense, I promise.
